The color you have to buy!

Today I went to the mall with my oldest son, Jake. While he and I walked through the slipper section, I remembered I needed a new pair of slippers. I've had these furry azure (blue) colored slippers for over a year now; and they are so ready for the dumpster. They are unsalvagable.

I thought I'd take a quick look through the slippers on display to see if I found any that I liked. I was hoping to find the same color and brand that I currently had--these slippers made me happy! As I browsed through various styles of slippers, one pair immediately caught my eye--it was a pair of pure valentine red furry slip-on slippers. I held my breath as I took the only pair of valentine red slippers off its hook and checked the foot size. It was my size! What are the odds? I asked Jake what he thought and he said, "I like them mommy. Yeah, I do!" I smiled, took his hand, and headed to the register to buy them.

I'm now wearing the slippers as I write this blog. I do like them, but there is still something about them that I'm getting used too. They are much brighter and vibrant than I am used to wearing. They're showy, fun, and wild in a way. This is exactly the type of energy that I need to get me out into the world.

These red slippers symbolize the first step for me to begin speaking and sharing my knowledge, experience, and voice at a greater level. They are the voice that says, "look at me--I'm not going to hide any longer." They are the color, the energy, that says that I am fun, full of life, and ready to take action!

Last week, if you read my blog, I wore the color valentine red hidden under my dark clothes. This week, I'm wearing the color valentine red on my feet. I actually didn't realize the symbolism until I began writing this blog. Valentine red is a color my being is craving. Valentine red is the color of vitality, life, security, action and passion. Ironically, Valentines Day is weeks away giving me the opportunity to purchase many more products in valentines red.

Have you found yourself having to have a product in a certain color and if its not in that color you won't purchase it? Have you ever wondered why?
